maxi dreams and childhood memories

Nehän on ihana keksintö!

in English:

Yesterday I got sick. I found my "Desperate Housewives" season one and started watching it for the first time in a long time, then I just ate, took medicine, and felt miserable the whole day, and at night I couldn't sleep because it was either too hot or too cold and my fever was high.

I'm so glad I'm feeling better today.

My mom and I went shopping for basic stuff I needed (and yes a lot of stuff I don't really need but I want) a couple days ago. We also went to go look at my birthday gift that I'm getting this weekend, yay! I'm not going to tell what it is yet but I'm pretty excited and I've wanted it for a while now. Anyway, the result of our shopping spree was socks and other essential, some jewelry and my first ever maxi dress!

I remember saying that I will never every get a maxi dress and that they look ridiculous. In grade school I remember saying that I will never ever get skinny jeans. I remember saying that I won't be a part of the back bag boom that had been going on for a few years. I have always changed my mind about these things, so I guess the trends have a way of affecting me. When a lot of people start wearing something, my subconscious mind accepts those things. I don't even notice these changes, and sometimes my friends just tell me that I used to say I hated something and now I think I love it. It's sort of weird and creepy, like someone's guiding my decisions. Or maybe it's just a natural part of growing up and having new opinions and burying the old ones, and it's fine because we have the right to change our minds.

Once again, I bought a maxi dress, even though I used to think they are hideous. My closet has no flared jeans in it and my favorite bags are back bags.

And I think maxi dresses the greatest thing! Think how simple and easy they are, you don't have to think about a two-piece outfit. You just put it on and you're pretty much done.

This is a beautiful song and the message is true; you can't fully appreciate something if you still have it. When you lose it you see how much you loved it. People are no exception.
